Simple, delicious, comforting, reminiscent of your childhood, grilled cheese, enough said.
That would be a pretty poor blog post, especially from a self proclaimed cheese fanatic and dairy farmer. So I guess I will expound a little more. There isn’t much that I can say about a grilled cheese that wasn’t summed up in my first sentence. So on this day instead of writing a big long post on the melty, toasty, gooey goodness that is a grilled cheese, I am going to take a moment to say thanks.
The idea of “What if I woke up tomorrow with only the things I thanked God for today” has been in my mind. Such a simple thought, even for those who don’t believe or pray. Take the time today to realize all that you have and be thankful for it.
Thank you everyone who reads my blog. I hope that I am able to touch your life the way you have touched mine. Thank you to my fellow dairy folks, without you today would be National Toast Day and that’s just not the same. But most of all I want to say thank you to everyone who eats cheese.
Cheese eaters, you are special folks. You play a huge part in the dairy industry, especially in Wisconsin. About 90% of all of the milk that comes from Wisconsin dairy cows goes into cheese making. So cheese eaters, you employ 90% of the dairy farmers and dairy cows in our state. Without you our farms would be empty, many would be without jobs and while the rest of us cheese eaters would have your share of cheese to eat, it just wouldn’t be the same without you.
So tonight when you get home, you’re tired and yet you have to make dinner. Reach for some cheese, bread a little butter and a pan and enjoy a simple to make grilled cheese knowing that you are important to me and my cows. Thank you!
